A 6-month+ opportunity for a Gardener has arisen with the local authorities in Swindon

Pay Rate: £13.69 per hour PAYE

Working Hours: 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 07:30 – 15:30.

Location: SN2 2PN

Duties include bending, lifting, operating petrol-powered horticultural machinery, manual handling, planting bedding, weeding, and driving light goods vehicles. Working in all weathers and as part of a team, you must be reliable and trustworthy. The contract runs from 1st April until 30th September, but we reserve the right to end the contract sooner for any reason.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform various gardening tasks, including planting, pruning, weeding, and mulching.
• Maintain and care for plants, flowers, shrubs, and trees.
• Ensure lawns are mowed, trimmed, and properly manicured.
• Operate and maintain gardening equipment and tools.
• Assist in planning and designing outdoor landscapes.
• Manage irrigation systems and water conservation efforts.
• Collaborate with fellow team members to ensure efficient garden maintenance.
• Maintain a safe and tidy working environment.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Previous experience in gardening, landscaping, or horticulture is preferred.
• Knowledge of plants, flowers, and landscaping techniques.
• Familiarity with gardening equipment and tools.
• Physical stamina and ability to perform outdoor manual labour.
• Attention to detail and a keen eye for aesthetics.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work in a team.
• Relevant gardening or horticulture qualifications are advantageous.
