Job Opportunity: Chartered Building Surveyor (Temporary)
Position: Chartered Building Surveyor
Contract: 6 months, Temporary, ASAP Start
Possibility of Extension: Yes, based on performance
Pay Rate: £350.00 per day (PAYE)
Working Hours: 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 08:00 – 16:00

Job Purpose:
To provide a full range of building surveying functions, including programming and carrying out building condition surveys, and creating a Planned Property Maintenance (PPM) program for the commercial portfolio. Prioritizing and carrying out maintenance works to the commercial portfolio, preparing drawings and job-specific work schedules, and managing small, large, and complex projects. Creating and providing future maintenance works budgets to finance teams.
Key Responsibilities:
- To manage, schedule and carry out detailed site, building and stock condition surveys, to enable the preparation of drawings (CAD), work schedules, specifications, contract and tender documentation and quotations for works. Ensuring that all works are delivered on time, within annualised budgets and to allocated annual spend profiles.
- To work in full compliance and keep up to date with appropriate legislation, building regulations and planning requirements relevant to your areas of responsibility, particularly regarding project designs, detailing work specifications and the CDM Regulations.
- To be able to react to situations on-site concerning structural diagnostics and building pathology, to enable the determination of remedial works and production of detailed work specifications.
- To assist in co-ordinating the preparation of drawings, specifications, tender documentation, contract documentation, quotations, tenders and programmes of work for all contracts.
- To manage the performance and progress of relevant minor and major works programmes against allocated budgets and undertake corrective action as and when necessary to ensure programme delivery.
- To be responsible for the supervision of contractors or tradespersons about the above programmes.
Qualifications and Experience:
- A minimum of five years experience working within the field of building surveying, stock investment, maintenance, improvement, and feasibility studies. MRICS qualification required.
- A clear understanding of building surveying, maintenance, programming works preparation of drawings, work schedules and project management. High-quality communication and negotiation skills.
